Finally a voting process we can all really get behind, unlike American Idol or the presidential race. Examiner.com has opened the polls to crown America’s Beer City USA for 2013. Today through May 10th, citizens like you can stand up and do your civic duty by voting for one of the 22 finalist cities, that include San Diego, Tampa, Ann Arbor and Chicago. The website claims that the contest is not a measure of beer quality, volume, or number of breweries; instead, it is meant to highlight communities that support and show enthusiasm for beer culture. In 2012, Grand Rapids and Ashville were crowned the winners after the nearly 56,000 votes were tallied.
